Elan’s D Booster tablets are a highly dosed vitamin D supplement. Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is significantly more absorbable by the human body and is therefore used in Elan’s D Booster tablets. By taking one small daily tablet, you get 75 micrograms of vitamin D3, which corresponds to 1,500% of the daily reference intake (DRI). The D Booster tablets help prevent or treat a vitamin D deficiency.
Vitamin D can be produced by the body under the influence of sunlight. However, the sun in the Netherlands and Belgium often lacks sufficient strength for the production of vitamin D. Therefore, a supplement of this sunshine vitamin is a good addition for many people. Many individuals have an increased need for vitamin D, such as the elderly, children, people who spend little time outdoors, those with dark skin, or those who are veiled. The Health Council recommends using a supplement in such cases.
During the winter months, it may also be advisable to use Elan’s D Booster tablets to prevent the winter blues. During this period, the sun is less powerful, and we are often heavily wrapped up. We wear gloves, long sleeves, hats, and scarves that cover our skin, resulting in significantly less vitamin D intake.
